Symphony. "As a nonprofit organization, the
Billings Symphony Society serves Eastern Montana and
Northern Wyoming with the only symphonic orchestra and
chorale in the region. The Symphony annually performs
concerts and educational services throughout the
region, including seven season concerts, two free full
orchestra concerts (a winter Youth Concert at the
Alberta Bair Theater and a summer community concert,
Symphony in the Park), and more than 50
education/outreach site visits by individual members
and small ensembles of the orchestra for school
children, senior citizens and residents of Yellowstone
County and neighboring rural communities. The Billings
Symphony annually reaches about 32,000 area residents
including adults, youth, children and senior citizens.
Outreach programs alone touch the lives of 5,000 to
7,000 children, senior citizens and rural residents.
As the regional source of professional musicians and
teachers, the Billings Symphony significantly impacts
the children and cultural activities in Billings and
the surrounding communities."
